Uni Check “Schnupperstudium” – Get a taste of student life
You are in the 12th or 13th grade (or 11th or 12th grade in the G8 model) or you already finish your A-levels? You are interested in studying Biomedical Chemistry, Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Geography or Geosciences at the Department 09 of the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz and would like to get a closer look before you decide to study?
You are still asking yourself questions like: What can I expect during my studies? Is this subject really the right one for me? What does student life at JGU look like?
Then the UniCheck “Schnupperstudium” is just the right thing for you!
What are the benefits of the “Schnupperstudium”?
During this week, you can get to know JGU and your chosen field of study for one full week. You will get an insight into your chosen subject, meet potential fellow students, attend “real lectures”, become familiar with student life and the JGU campus, and benefit from first-hand experience reports.

The UniCheck "Schnupperstudium" offer is only available in German. Unless otherwise stated, this also applies to most degree programs in Faculty 09 - to enroll in a German-language degree program, proof of German language proficiency at DSH-2 level is required.
If you are interested in studying at our faculty, you are welcome to use the "Schnupperstudium" to gain an insight into your field of study. If you would like to learn/ to improve your German in order to study at Faculty 09, you can find German preparation courses at the ISSK.
